Welcome to Misty Mountain Trophy Hunting

where some mornings in the Fall and Spring, you look down on the clouds. At 2,000 feet the air is a little colder or warmer depending on the day or the season. MISTY MOUNTAIN is where mountains, hollows, wind, water, and clouds all meet.

Some who've been here say you can see fifty miles. I'm not sure what fifty miles looks like, but I know on a clear day you can see out over four counties. Some say it's the mountain that makes them grow bigger, tougher, and wiser here. Others who have experienced the misty mornings, breathed the damp air, wiped droplets of moisture from their glasses and cheeks or watched it settle on their gun barrel say it's the mist that makes them big.

Hence, we offer you our MISTY MOUNTAIN. We offer this mystical, magical place to hear your heart pound and catch your breath. We offer you our MISTY MOUNTAIN to live your hopes and dreams and to become one with the mountain, the mist, and the great one. We offer you our MISTY MOUNTAIN to be as your father and your father's forefathers, where we offer you to be the hunter.

MISTY MOUNTAIN comprises over 2,000 acres of family owned hardwood ridges, hollows, pines, hemlock bottoms, swamps, and clear-cut thickets. Elevations range from 1,400 to 2,000 feet. Over 135 acres of feed plots consisting of clover, soybeans, sunflowers, sorghum, corn and brassica dot the area from one to three acres in size.

Most of the property has been under Quality Deer Management since 1997 and only hunted privately. Year 2007 is the first full year MISTY MOUNTAIN Trophy Deer Hunting, Inc. is booking hunts for deer, turkey, bear, and coyotes with optional fishing also available. We have booked hunts on a part-time basis for the past three years for deer only.

We border more than 20,000 acres of remote, mountainous Pennsylvania State Game lands and 3,000 acres of private Quality Deer Management properties. Bucks harvested over the past nine years score into the 160's P & Y and have weighed in excess of 258 pounds. Sightings of bucks in the 170-180 class P & Y have been made during the two most recent seasons.

About the Owners

Phil and Deb Schreyer are not new to the outfitting business. Phil has over 10 years experience guiding deer and turkey hunts both in high fence and fair chase/wild operations. In the mid 1990's, Phil and his wife, Deb, purchased their Misty Mountain property and immediately began a Quality Deer Management program that has expanded to more than 2,000 acres. For the past several years, they have offered deer and turkey hunts on a limited basis as they continued to build their log home, guest lodging, and expand and develop their Q.D.M. properties.

They also own and operate a General Store that carries everything from gasoline, groceries, and large food menu to hunting and fishing supplies and licenses, camping items, hardware, gift and craft items, and outdoor storage buildings. Their rural business setting hosts thousands of hunters and fisherman yearly who visit the more than 100,000 acres of Pennsylvania State Game lands, parks, and forests in the surrounding area.
